"PLEASE HELP ME FIND A NEW HOME"

Dogs in need of new homes come in all ages, shapes and sizes and especially if being returned direct to a breeder, there should be sufficient history on the dog to assess his/her suitability in a family home/other dogs or not. Speak to the breeder or the re-homing association. The charge for a rescue dog is up to the individual society.

We offer this page for any dog needing a new home and family to love, (whether by our dogs or not). Good breeders will take care of their own but when they don't care, we will do what we can to help to help but we are NOT an agency or registered rescue organisation. Rescue Society links below.

Dublin City Council have decreed that all dogs on their 'banned breed list' - English Bull Terriers, Staffies, Dobermanns, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Rotties etc - can no longer be kept by owners living in Dublin Council houses so a number of dogs are being handed in to rescue. We and others will bring dogs to the UK for new homes. Thankfully there is a great team of people in Ireland doing a fantastic job andwe have currently homed ALL the dogs for the moment. I'll update the page as soon as a new dog is in need.

ROCCO's new home didn't work out for him so he is looking for a new home. His background is that he used to be a loved family pet until the family got another dog and they both ended up unwanted and living outside. Rocco is a good looking 4 yr old dog, recently castrated who displays territorial dominance and dog aggression out of protection rather than fear. He would be ideally suited to an owner with either no other dogs or perhaps just another bitch, no children and walks where he would not meet other dogs. He is very loving but mentally quite strong and does like to push his luck, mostly from needing to understand his pack place. We really liked Rocco's character when we brought him over from Ireland, and he needs calm, assertive leadership from a confident owner.

Please contact us on 01538 703072 or jayk@aritaur.co.uk for more details.

GELLERT is a 2 ½ year old Brown and Tan castrated male. He lived in a deprived and neglected environment and has probably suffered some physical abuse as he was nervous of being touched on his lower back. He was taken from this environment by a social worker who looked after him for two months before he came to us for rehoming. He is a very handsome dog who loves people. He is not very sociable with other dogs, however Sue James is working with him while he is in kennels to overcome this problem.
Gellert would be best suited to an owner who is experienced with male Dobes and has no other dogs.

For further details please call Sue James, Tel. 01685 844362, Mobile 07789071738

Roxie is a 14 month old Black and Tan unspayed bitch with a tail. She is very sweet natured and biddable. Used to children 7 years and upwards. Roxie lives with another bitch, however, they do not get on which is why she is being sadly rehomed.
For further details please call Diane Steane Tel. 01895 833153

Ricco is a 4 year old entire Black and Tan male who is well trained, affectionate and bouncy.

His owner has just started agility classes with him. He does not like cats. Travels well in the car. Ricco is currently still in his home in Stirling, Scotland and is being rehomed as his owner is now at work full time and he is left on his own for 7 hours a day.
For further details please call Evelyn Segendo Tel. 01294 272184

BettY is with her breeder in Enfield, Middlesex. She is a 2.5 year old black bitch, spayed, who needs to be homed as an only dog. Her new owners must be experienced in the breed. Betty is a most loving bitch but needs a very firm hand. She can be choosy over who she likes; she is not over keen on some women but normally ok with blokes (bit of a tart really). Sue is not desperate to home Betty. She would make a fabulous companion, but the home has to be quite specialist and dedicated to dealing with Miss Betty. If you think you might be that person, pleas call Betty's breeder Sue Glennon on 0208 805 5358 or email at malcdobermann@blueyonder.co.uk.

MORE Success THAN Sadness

Glenda (below) from Dublin who was due to be put to sleep, has a wonderful new home with Mary & her family in Cheshire.

Thanks to Billy and family for bringing Glenda to England for her new owners.

JJ the one year old male who went back to his breeders, has gone successfully to his new home with Bron & Andy in Norfolk.

David & his wife are delighted with CRUZ from Ireland who goes to the beach most days with them. Lucky dog.

DIEGO (below) spent 5 months in kennels in Ireland, before going to live with Cass & Lee in Telford with their 1 yr old daughter (a complete natural around dogs), and Tom the rescued ex racing Greyhound (not surprised he didn't make the grade as he moved about an inch all the time he was here!). Transformed from a distressed, miserable boy to an already devoted dog, Diego has found love and stability with his new family. Pictured above right visiting last week for some starter advice on how to reduce his stress induced circling.

This was Colberg the Rottie, who was put to sleep on Monday because no-one got him out of the pound in Dublin.

We hope someone from Dublin City Council looks at this photo of a big beautiful dog with lots of love to give, and feel hugely ashamed of themselves for killing him.

NEO now has a lovely new home What a doll he is.

Keano who was due to be put to sleep at the Wicklow Pound in Ireland, has a lovely new home in Ireland. The white marks are dead hairs from some sort of damage. Well done Fi.

ROCKY (right) the 14 month old entire male whose owners left him behind when they emigrated, came to England on Sunday night with us to live with Claire in Cheshire who has two lovely bitches for him to idolise! The latest is that he is in love with Claire's youngest bitch Prada

We brought ROCCO over from Ireland to his new home in Middlesex with Sharon and her family on Monday. Rocco went from being a house dog for over 2 years to living outside and neglected. He was very distressed at first, but has come around brilliantly with nurturing from Fi & Niall who have been fostering him. Having spent 24 hours with him, we know they'll miss him very much, but they know he will be a very much loved member of his new family. A really adorable dog with so much to give.

Badly undernourished, Sascha is around 5 -6 months old. She lived with a 2 year old Weimaraner bitch who we also rescued from the same owner in Oldham where they were left all day alone due to a marriage break up. Sascha has one of the best homes possible with her new owners Geoffrey & Linda from the South Coast and her friend the Weimaraner is also going to a lovely new home . Thank you to Monique for her generous help in collecting the Weimaraner.

TIA, the pub dog from Tyne & Wear now living very happily with her friend the Jack Russel and owner Simon in Southampton.

Thankfully, we have a great network of Dobe people who will work ourselves tirelessly to ensure we don't lose a Dobermann. It is a wicked waste of a great life. If you can offer a home to a Dobe in need, call or mail us and we will gladly offer advice on re-homing a dog and if we have one suitable who might fit with your family. You do not need to have a 'perfect' home. You need a good heart, a steady environment, some experience depending on the dog to be matched with you, lots of energy and be home at least part of the day. Tel 01538 703072 or email jayk@aritaur.co.uk

We are not a rescue organisation or charity. We help find homes for dogs in need and pass the details onto the rescue societies. Descriptions of dogs are given by their current owners, foster homes or rescue societies and we cannot be held liable for any inaccuracies.
