GONE BUT ALWAYS IN OUR MINDS

ARITAUR FLIP FANTASIA JW - 27.12.97 to 27.04.06 (Khaneve Rage n Honour x Crislea Centrefold of Aritaur)

With great misery and a very heavy heart today - April 06 2006, I’m sad to tell everyone who knew her, that Java was put to sleep last night. On Saturday she began feeling ill and we thought she had a urinary tract infection, but last night our vet discovered that she had a liver tumour which was untreatable. She was in too much pain to continue.

Java was our first born from Juno. She was perfect - exactly what I’d hoped for – a little brown girl, and the only brown girl in the litter.
At her second Champ show (Windsor 98) she won 1st in her class – a big class back then. Java and I competed against Martin with Java’s brother Caius. Java won BPIS at the Dobe Club, and Caius won BPIS at the SEEDC. We used to love showing them against each other.
We went on to do lots of winning together –  Java won her JW at 14 months, and a CC at Bath shortly after her first litter, handled by Sue Mycroft, and she won a RCC the following year at Bath with Martin, and a Best In Show with me at Stroud in December 2000.

When my back got bad, Java used to love to pick things up for me and with great enthusiasm brought my slippers to me every morning, although when she didn’t concentrate, she’d bring one slipper and a boot. We called her Ja Ja Binks, because she looked like the creature in Star Wars when she flew her ears back.

Java lived life to the max. Never a couch potato, she was always on the go. She was a great carer – always wanting to wash someone's ears. From a show producing point of view, she had a litter to Drusus producing Aritaur Electra at Heathwaen, and our Equinox who hated showing but is a great worker. Her ‘F’ litter to Russia gave us From Russia with Love, Full Monty, and Fuzzy Love all of whom did very well.

For those who didn’t see her shown, Java’s movement was outstanding. She turned her pasterns very slightly, but you'd never see such balance, reach and drive!! – she took some keeping up with. I loved her total passion for showing, her great free standing, the slightly crazed look in her eyes for the bait in the ring, and the way she always humped my leg madly in front of everyone when the clapping started.

We had extra time with Java after the removal twice of some aggressive mammary sarcomas, not that she let that show anyway. Treasure every singleday, every single moment with your loved ones. You never know when they’ll be taken away from you. I miss her desperately.

Thank you for the fun you gave me Java. You gave me so many laughs. I know they have loads of sausage where you’re off to. I’ll bring you some extra cheese when I catch up with you. God Bless you Binks, from Mummy & Daddy.

The longevity of our dogs is very good, at around 10.5 years. The dogs listed below are those we have bred who have died either from old age or disease. Every dog we have bred who we know has died early, has been listed here.

Crislea Centrefold of Aritaur (Juno) - died 12 days short of her 12th birthday (DCM tested clear on 27 Dec 06). The most wonderful lady with absolute nobility and grace. We always knew how lucky we were to have her. The very best and most gentle top girl.

Holtzburg Dior From Crislea (Freya) - Juno's mum, died in June 06 aged nearly 13. A HUGE loss to us all, especially her 'mum' Pat.

Holtzburg I'm a Hooligan Too (Lucy) - died in August 06 aged nearly 13. Litter sister to Freya, owned by Toni & Ian Norman.

Aritaur Flip Fantasia JW (Java) died April 2006, aged 8 (liver failure/possible tumour). What a crazy girl and how much fun we had together. Taught each other a great deal about showing and whenever the ringside applauses a win, I always remember her jumping up to bonk my leg in excitement! Still missing her every day.

Ch Tamerlan iz Slavnoi Stai (Tamer) died June 2005 aged 8 (stomach cancer). A major loss to the breed but who has left an incredible legacy through his progeny. Despite the stupid rumour mill from ignorant think they know it all's, he died of stomach cancer, not DCM.

Aritaur Giovanna - (Paige) died 17 July 2007 aged 4 (kidney failure). Too young and badly missed.

Aritaur Cavera Cobra (Edmund), died 12th June 2008 aged 7 (copper toxicosis). PTS on the same day as his friend Lucy. Very much missed.

Aritaur Norseman at Blitzkrieg (Guapo) died October 2008 aged 3 (Leukaemia) Owned by Tommy & Maureen Rice

Ch Aritaur A Little More Soba (Riva) died 8th November 2009 (Diabetic complications). Our very bold and beautiful girl who came back to us age 4, from her previous owner Jackie. She made us work our socks off, but we were blessed to have her.

Aritaur Midnight Rave (Caius) Died 12th January 2010, just a few days after his 12th birthday. Our first boy and Martin's first show dog. A difficult youngster but more than worthwhile persevering as he became a wonderful and loving adult.

Ken-Ti's Babalouba (Luba). Died aged nearly 8 of DCM. Our first import bred by Marc & Sonia van de Meutter from Belgium. One of the most crazy dogs we've ever had - never a dull moment, always high on energy and life even on her very last day. Very hard work but also made us laugh endlessly.

Aritaur Equinox (Bouschka) Died on 12th November 2010 aged nearly 10 . Daughter of Drusus v Adlercrest and Java. She was my most beloved and loyal companion. There was never a more devoted and protective Dobermann. Always on the look out for danger and was very dog aggressive but give her a litter of young puppies to care for and she loved them as her own. Had an insulinoma - tumour on the pancreas, which put out insulin constantly and suppressed blood sugar, so after diagnosis, needed to eat almost constantly. I lost my soul mate and doubt I will ever have such a guardian again. Life lost it's reason for me for sometime when Boo died.

Ch/Ir Ch, Aritaur Hipnotique (Zena) UK Bitch Breed Record holder. Died 4th December 2010 aged nearly 7, in whelp from sudden collapse. Post mortem was not conclusive but suspected to be heart. Possible arrythmia. The undisputed top Dobermann show bitch who was a delight to live with and who we were extremely proud to have bred. Owned by Hugh & Jewel Fleming and Billy Henderson.

Aritaur F'ladimar (Harvey). Died 10th March 2011 aged 8.5 from Osteosarcoma - bone cancer. A kind, gentle and loving boy, adored by all who knew him; none more so than his bereft owners Caz & Yvonne Meen. There is snow in dog heaven and he'll be lounging on the sofa with the rest of the family.

Paige (Aritaur Giovanna) 15 August 2003 to 17 July 2007.

To our beautiful Paige

You brought great love, joy and laughter into our lives.  Your life, though short, has left us with many precious memories to last a lifetime.  Being wise beyond your years you taught us so very much.  You were always kind, gentle and loving. You are now free from pain, we are carrying it for you. Go gently sweet girl, until we meet again.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there.  I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I did not die.

Mary E. Frye

Many thanks to Jay & Martin for our very special girl,

Amanda, Bruce and family x

Ch Korifey iz Zoosfery (imp) x Aritaur Sweetest Taboo

Paige was diagnosed with kidney failure. She was a wonderful mum to Amanda & Bruces' other dogs and their many rescues who she cherished as her own.
